Giants at Raiders: Preview, prediction, odds and pick
By Brad Weiss
The Oakland Raiders will look to stay on the right track against the New York Giants on Sunday, as they welcome the G-Men to the Oakland Coliseum.
The Oakland Raiders won a big divisional matchup this past weekend, as they took care of business against the Denver Broncos at home. On Sunday, they will return to the Oakland Coliseum to take on the New York Giants, who will have a new man under center. With a win, the Raiders can get to .500 on the season, which would be a big deal considering all they have been through this year.
For the Giants, they will be making the move to Geno Smith under center, which comes with much outrage from the fans. Smith was a bust for the New York Jets, and with only five games left in the season, it is strange they would not let Eli Manning just finish out the year. Head coach Ben McAdoo has said he wants to look at his other quarterbacks for next year, but there is no guarantee he will even be back piloting the ship in 2018.
New York has had their struggles this season, and while Manning has not played at a high level, he also has bee playing behind a bad offensive line, and lost two of his top weapons to injury early on. The Raiders defense looked great against Paxton Lynch this past Sunday, and you can be sure new defensive coordinator John Pagano will be dialing up the blitzes against Smith this weekend. Oakland is playing for their playoff lives, so they should be fired up in this one.
Odds
Line: Oakland Raiders (-9.0)
Over/Under: 42.0
The Raiders are big favorites at home against the Giants, as they are giving the now Geno Smith-led G-Men nine points. The over/under is set at 42.0, which makes sense considering the weapons who are out for the Raiders, and the fact Smith is starting over Manning. This line will change a lot throughout the week, so head on over to OddsShark.com for any changes up until kickoff.

Prediction
The Raiders will be without Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree this weekend, as one has a concussion, and the other is suspended. Still, this Raiders offense has enough firepower to get it done without them, especially against a two-win team like the Giants. New York did surprise the Chiefs and beat them a couple weeks back, but that was at home, and Manning was under center.
Final Score: Raiders 28, Giants 13
