ESPN College GameDay came to Charlotte for the ACC Championship between Miami and Clemson and these are the best GameDay signs from the show.
When it comes to Championship Weekend, the college football world is undoubtedly excited and all turning out for the big events. More importantly, ESPN College GameDay basically has their pick of the litter as to what game they could attend. For the 2017 season, though, they decided to head to Charlotte for the ACC Championship between the Miami Hurricanes and Clemson Tigers.
Coming into the final week of the regular season, it appeared that the Canes were heading right for the College Football Playoff. However, then came their closing matchup against the Pitt Panthers and everything fell apart. They suffered their first loss of the season and fell out of the CFP.
Meanwhile, Clemson benefitted from an Alabama loss to slot into the playoff’s No. 1 seed. The defending National Champion Tigers essentially control their own destiny at this point. Not only are they in the top spot of the rankings, but they are also clearly the favorites over Miami.
The Hurricanes have sustained a number of critical injuries on offense that leaves them reeling in a major way. Put simply, it would be a major shock to see The U pull off the upset. With that being said, that didn’t stop the fans from both Miami and Clemson from showing up in droves — of course bringing the noise with signs.
