FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy Hockey lineup December 2, 2017
By Paul Horvat
Here are your FanDuel NHL picks for Saturday.
Welcome to FanDuel NHL Picks for Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017. Today we have a huge ten-game slate. First of all, if this is your first time reading this article welcome. In this article, the picks are focused entirely on building winning GPP Lineups.
In addition to the top plays below you will see top plays, mid-tier, punts and cheap or value plays. Finally, my goal is to help you win tournaments and build a unique lineup that is optimal. The lineups posted at the end of the slides are not guaranteed to win and yes I play them.
Because the goal of this article is to help you make the best choices for a given slate rather than just cut and paste the picks, therefore I will tell you that the most successful DFS players use various tools available to tweak their lineups for the best chance to win.
If you find this info for today helpful, drop a bookmark on the fantasy hockey hub to find this kind of post about FanDuel every day along with a similar one for DraftKings. In this post, all references to fantasy points and salary refer to FanDuel scoring and salaries, but if you want to give DraftKings a try, head over to the hub and find that post for today. If you have any other questions or thoughts or are looking for any updates as the games get closer, follow @FanSidedFantasy on Twitter or @VatmanP where I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have and help you get your lineup set. Lastly I play on these sites my FD screen name is TUNAFISHIN and DK is Brilliance.
Centers
Auston Matthews, Tor at VAN ($7,900)
In addition to being our top play and highest priced center Matthews is one of my must plays today. Due to the fact he averages18.1 FPPG while playing just 18 minutes per game makes it worth paying up for.
Patrick Marleau, TOR at VAN ($5,200) And our mid-tier play at center is a shot taking machine. In Marleau’s last game he took a massive seven shots and had a goal of 23.2 FPS. Furthermore, he is playing a Vancouver team that gives up an average of 29 shots per game. What is most noteworthy is that in the last 4 seasons vs. Vancouver he has over 47 shots and 17 points.
Adam Henrique, ANA at NSH ($4,300) If it seems like I am going back to the well, I am. His price is just too low not to use him as a way to fit some studs into my lineups. The ducks have him on the top line, therefore, ask yourself how many top guys cost this little for that much upside?
Other plays: Sidney Crosby, Sean Monahan and Nazem Kadri.
Wingers
Jamie Benn, CHI at DAL ($7,300) Let me say this nobody is going to have him tonight. Benn has slowed his output lately so I love him at his usual monster price tag and am looking for a monster game. the Blackhawks play a physical game and Benn thrives in these match-ups.
Brock Boeser, TOR at VAN ($6,200) Do you love snipers? Brock went off in his last game with a massive 40.5 Fps. He is an all-around point monster I want as much as I can of this game that will be end to end with two talented offenses.
Connor Brown, TOR at VAN ($3,600) We have to have value and it seems silly to call Brown a value when he plays on the top line with Matthews. His recent game logs will have everyone off of him in tournaments. He’s due and because this game is looking like a shootout I love this value.
Also consider: Johnny Gaudreau, Zach Hyman, Michael Frolik
Defensemen
Brent Burns, SJ at TB ($6,800) Burn is the right term, he’s a great player but only returning 1.91 price per 1K in salary. Consequently, I’m not against playing him against Tampa Bay where he should block some shots. There’s better value out there people.
Mark Giordano – EDM at CGY ($5,400) I like Mark here because he’s the perfect upside play at 2.28 price per 1k. As a result, we get a solid 10.1 Fps player with upside if he adds an assist or goal but most of all this game will feature two young fast offensive teams.
Dougie Hamilton, EDM at CGY ($5,000) Can you play both of the Calgary D? You can and I will have heavy exposure in all my lineups. His price per 1k is nearly 3.00 FPS. my conclusion is that these are my guys are probably in almost all of my lineups.
Also consider Duncan Keith, Morgan Reilly and T.J. Brodie.
Goaltender
Andrei Vasilevskiy, SJ at TB ($9,300) If you need a win Vasi is your guy. he has a season average of 25.7 FPPG and should handle the Sharks playing a back to back. While I want a win it’s either pay up at keeper or go value hunting. As a result, I can’t fit him in my optimal lineups but you can take a chance he’s a solid expensive play.
Mike Smith, EDM at CGY ($8,000) Do you build multiple lineups? It seems like I do especially for bigger slates like this one. I seemed to keep ending up with a lot of Mikey. On the season he’s nearly a three-point per 1k guy and easy math says he’s gonna give me 24 Fps tonight. My conclusion is that he’s a lock for me in a game Calgary is favored in. So lock him in and get some exposure in this one.
Ryan Miller, ANA at NSH ($7,700) The Price is a little high on Ryno. I like to target goalies that see a lot of shots. Nashville will get plenty and I’m hoping that the Ducks can play another good game tonight and squeak out a win while being outshot. Miller is a decent play for tourney’s for this exact reason and he will be very low owned.
Also consider: Aaron Dell and Robin Lehner
Top Stacks
Finally, on a huge slate, I will share some of my favorite stacks. Stacking lineups in NHL DFS is very fruitful and pathway way to winning large field Gpp’s.
Calgary Flames, Monahan, Ferland, T.J. Brodie, Gaudreau.
Toronto, Matthews, Hyman, James Van Riemsdyk, Marner.
Tampa Bay, Namestnikov, Kucherov, Hedman, Stamkos.
