Scott Frost and staff set to coach UCF in bowl game

Although he’s on his way back home to Nebraska, Scott Frost and staff will be coaching UCF in the New Year’s Six bowl.
Moments after coaching No. 14 UCF to a shootout, double-overtime victory against No. 20 Memphis to clinch the American Athletic Conference championship, ending a perfect 12-0 season, and securing a place in one of the New Year’s six bowl games, coach Scott Frost grew emotional as he addressed reporters seeking to confirm his appointment as the head coach at the University of Nebraska.
“I’m going to go celebrate with my team,” Frost ended the interview, hustling to the locker room where he broke the news of his appointment but left open the possibility of taking the Knights to their bowl game on New Year’s Day.
In the first hour following the game, reports began to emerge, at first assuring UCF fans that Frost’s entire staff would remain on hand through the bowl game and then, in the next hour, that both Nebraska and Central Florida could cooperate in order to allow Frost to remain at the helm while preparing his transition to back to Husker football.
Tweeting throughout the afternoon emphasized congratulatory goodwill.

Knights247 reports that UCF Athletic Director Danny White confirms that Frost and his staff are committed to preparing the Knights for their bowl appearance, most likely the Peach Bowl.
“We have to figure out exactly how that plays out, but his mind is very focused on preparing this team — this whole staff is — to preparing our team to compete in the bowl,” said White. “There’s nobody else that can do it. We can’t bring in new coaches and expect to be as competitive as we want to be.”
While UCF readies to play in one of the major bowl games, Nebraska fans are delighted to have landed Frost, a semi-finalist for the Coach of the Year award.
