Live results and highlights from UFC 218 in Detroit, featuring a featherweight title fight rematch between Max Holloway and Jose Aldo

On Friday, December 2, the UFC touched down in Detroit to bring fight fans UFC 218 live from the Little Caesars Arena. In the main event, reigning featherweight champion Max Holloway put his 145-pound title on the line against the man he initially won it from in Jose Aldo.

Holloway, who won the title from Aldo with a third round TKO at UFC 212 in June, was originally slated to defend his belt against Frankie Edgar. However, after suffering a fractured orbital in camp, Edgar was removed from the card. As a result, Aldo stepped up on short notice in hopes of reclaiming his featherweight crown.

Also appearing on the card was a heavyweight matchup between top contender Alistair Overeem and Francis Ngannou, a lightweight scrap between former champs Eddie Alvarez and Justin Gaethje as well as a women’s strawweight fight between Tecia Torres and Michelle Waterson.
