The Akron Zips will play the Toledo Rockets on Saturday afternoon for the 2017 MAC Championship Game. Here is how to watch the MAC Championship Game online.
We’ve made it to conference championship weekend. All the Power 5 and Group of 5 conferences’ conference championships will be on tap either Friday or Saturday. The 2017 MAC Championship between the Akron Zips (7-5) and the Toledo Rockets (10-2) should be a good one.
Kickoff from neutral-site Ford Field in Detroit will be at 12:00 p.m. ET on Dec. 2. ESPN will have the telecast with Mark Jones and Rod Gilmore in the booth. The available live streams can be found on WatchESPN and on FuboTV.
Akron finished the regular season with a 7-5 (6-2) record, winning the MAC East by a game over the Ohio Bobcats. This is the Zips’ second-ever division title. They are the cusp of winning their second conference championship in school history, the last one coming in 2005. This will be the third ever bowl game for the Zips since they joined the MAC back in 1992.
Toledo finished the regular season with a 10-2 (7-1) record, winning the MAC West by a game over the Northern Illinois Huskies. The Rockets could be ranked in the top-25 by winning the MAC this year, which would be their 11th conference championship in school history and first since 2004.
After this, the Rockets will be playing in their 17th bowl game. Toledo has been one of the best mid-major football programs of the last two decades. Having former coaches like Nick Saban, Gary Pinkel and Matt Campbell totally help.

Swallow the 21.5 points to take the Rockets to win and cover. They already beat the Zips earlier in the season to the tune of 48-21 back in Toledo. This may be a neutral-site game, but this feels like the Rockets’ year to get back on top and win the MAC.
