The Florida State Seminoles will look to become bowl eligible when they host UL Monroe on Saturday.
When the Florida State Seminoles went into the season, they weren’t expecting their game against UL Monroe to be as filled with as many narratives as it is. Nonetheless, Hurricane Irma forced this game to the end of the schedule.
On Saturday, the two schools will be making up a game that was originally supposed to be played in September. Then the hurricane hit and ultimately it was pushed until the end of the season for Florida State.

At the time, the Seminoles weren’t expecting this game to be dependent upon their bowl eligibility. They probably also weren’t expecting that Jimbo Fisher would be elsewhere and no longer the head coach of the program when it rolled around. It just goes to show how wildly unpredictable the college football season can truly be.

With Fisher set to take a bunch of money from Texas A&M, the Seminoles are now a program in transition to the next regime that will take over. However, with a win over the Warhawks, they can punch their ticket to a bowl game and have one extra game on the season.
Yet, with the high aspirations the program has every year, it will be completely overshadowed by the coaching search the program will be putting on. After losing Fisher, they’re almost assuredly going to be chasing a major name to come in and keep the program as a contender with a healthy roster next season.
