Willie Taggart’s name has come up for the FSU job, but the Oregon head coach made an interesting tweet Saturday. Taggart talked about the near future, perhaps indicating he’s long to stay in Eugene.

Oregon football coach Willie Taggart’s name has come up abundantly for the open FSU job. The Seminoles job opened earlier this week when Jimbo Fisher fled Tallahassee for the Texas A&M Aggies. As a result, plenty have linked Taggart to the ‘Noles. It makes a lot of sense for a few factors.

Willie is from Florida and also recruits the state very well. He has a history of being in the Sunshine State, having worked at USF before going to Oregon this past season. Not to mention the fact that Jimmy Sexton is Taggart’s agent, and was Jimbo’s agent, too. Sexton could feasibly send Fisher away and get one of his clients right back into Tallahassee.

With all that said, Taggart still hasn’t said yes or no as for if he’s going to the ‘Noles or not. A tweet on Saturday night may (keyword: may) indicate, though, that he intends to stay up in Eugene and on the recruiting trail for the Ducks.

Now, you should take this tweet with a grain of salt. Just because Taggart says he’s going to be on the road recruiting again for the Ducks doesn’t mean that, well, he’s actually going to be. It also doesn’t necessarily mean that plans could change down the road, either. This was a pretty safe tweet to make, but his continued dismissal of whether he will pull the trigger either way has led to a lot of unanswered questions.

One way or another, we’ll have our answer as for if Taggart takes the FSU job or not. Saturday night, though, for the first time, the Ducks coach at least made his intentions clear for the weekend.
