No. 3 Georgia vs. No. 6 Wisconsin

Georgia vs. Wisconsin would be one of the most intriguing matchups of the College Football Playoff. There’s the Badgers, with running back Jonathan Taylor and a terrific defense. The Bulldogs offer a two-headed monster at running back, along with freshman quarterback Jake Fromm.

Offensively, these teams match up well. However, it’s somewhat the same, as Georgia and Wisconsin were almost identical in Yards Allowed Per Game. The “tie” must be broken, though.

If the run can’t be stopped, this will be Wisconsin’s game. Aside from the Big Ten National Championship, it proved capable of thwarting everyone’s ground game. Nick Chubb and Sony Michel are talented but, unlike facing JK Dobbins, there would be more than one week to gameplan and prep for their talents.

Despite this, the quarterback nod goes to Fromm, who was more efficient and accurate than Alex Hornibrook throughout the season. If the Georgia secondary shuts him down and goes all-in on Taylor, this could be a different story.

After watching Wisconsin fall, despite playing well, to its toughest opponent in the 2017 season, it takes some confidence away in just how good they are. Georgia played tougher teams and just closed out the Auburn squad that handled Alabama, including limiting them to just 3.7 yards per carry. This play should continue, with Taylor’s play being limited and Hornibrook getting overwhelmed by a tough secondary. That means a matchup vs. Oklahoma.

Prediction: Georgia defeats Wisconsin, 31-20
