Patriots at Bills: Highlights, score and recap
On Sunday afternoon at Orchard Park, the New England Patriots rolled the Buffalo Bills. What did we learn from this divisional showdown?
The New England Patriots took a seven-game winning streak into Orchard Park, New York, on Sunday as they faced the hungry Buffalo Bills. Tom Brady and company had also won 13 straight road games and had also came victorious in their last five trips to the Bills’ home field.
It’s also worth noting that a win by the Pats would raise their record this season to 10-2 and mark the 15th consecutive year the franchise had won 10 or more games. It continues to be an amazing run for the NFL’s active dynasty.
But who would have thought that neither of these teams would score a first-half touchdown on Sunday. New England owned a 9-3 lead at intermission. But then Brady and offense came out of the locker room and began clocking on offense and began to pull away for a 23-3 victory. Three Stars
1. RBs Dion Lewis and Rex Burkhead
The former totaled 15 carries for 92 yards on the ground. Burkhead ran 12 times for 78 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns and also caught three passes for 25 yards. The Patriots finished with 191 yards rushing in their latest conquest of the Buffalo Bills.
2. TE Rob Gronkowski
The massive target was thrown at 11 times and caught nine passes for 147 yards in the team’s 20-point win. But the real story here was that questionable hit in the fourth quarter on Bills’ cornerback Tre’Davious White following an interception of Tom Brady.
3. DE Eric Lee
Where does Bill Belichick find these guys. No need to answer as Lee finished the afternoon with four tackles, 1.5 sacks. He also knocked down two passes and intercepted Tyrod Taylor as New England made it 15 straight seasons of 10 or more wins.

Odds
Winners of 13 consecutive road games dating back to the start of the 2016 season (the second-longest such winning streak in NFL history), the Patriots were 8.5-point favorites as they made their way to Orchard Park on Sunday afternoon. Meanwhile, that over/under of 48.5 looked pretty inviting in terms of the high side as 1:00 pm ET approached.
Next Week
The New England Patriots play the second of what will be three straight road games, this one on a Monday night at South Florida against the struggling Miami Dolphins. The Buffalo Bills are home once again and face their final non-divisional foe of 2017 when they take on the Indianapolis Colts.
