DraftKings NBA picks December 4: Which Star Will Post The Best Numbers?

Our Monday has 11 games, which makes for large DraftKings tournaments. There is plenty of value out there if you know where to look so you can play the stars that you want. Let’s find those!

More from DraftKings

The money line last night was a solid 249 DraftKings points. A horrible night by Jordan Clarkson ruined my entries.

The winning lineup was down a ways to 329.75 points. He paid up for Westbrook and Butler, but got great value from Austin Rivers, Kuzma, Davis Bertans, and Olynyk so he could use both DeAndre Jordan and Capela.

LOS ANGELES, CA – NOVEMBER 13: Ben Simmons #25 of the Philadelphia 76ers reacts to his rebound during a 109-105 win over the LA Clippers at Staples Center on November 13, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Harry How/Getty Images)

Point Guards

Best Bets:

Ben Simmons ($9,800): Simmons was awful against Detroit on Saturday, but he should rebound in a big way against Phoenix. The only real defensive threat on this team is Tyson Chandler. The Suns are terrible on the outside, especially against the point. There is potential for Simmons to have a monster game tonight.

Stephen Curry ($9,400): Curry has 89.25 DraftKings points in two games against the Pelicans so far this season. That leaves him a shade under 5x value, but you know that Curry isn’t going to lay an egg like Simmons did on Saturday. I like Curry more in cash games, but he has decent GPP upside as well.

Honorable Mention:

Kemba Walker ($7,500): Walker is upgraded to probable for tonight, and honestly, those of us who do research are thrilled. Walker racked up 63.5 DraftKings points on Orlando the first time around, and you could argue that the Magic have been just as bad against everyone. Walker is going to hurt their average again. I don’t expect another 60 out of him, but I do expect mid 40’s, which is 6x value.

Spencer Dinwiddie ($7,000): Not only did Dinwiddie do a good job defensively on Schroder, he put up 42 DraftKings points against the Hawks on Saturday. The series moves to Atlanta this time, but I doubt that the Hawks will be able to stop Dinwiddie here either. Unless they magically improved in the last 46 hours or so.

Kris Dunn ($6,100): I’m not sure that I trust Bledsoe against Boston. Dunn against Cleveland looks like a much safer option. Dunn has taken over the starting job for the Bulls, and averaged 36.6 DraftKings points last week. Dunn’s stock is trending up right now, and the Cavs are having serious issues guarding the point. It should be another strong game for Dunn.

Dark Horses:

Darren Collison ($5,700): Collison had a big game against the Knicks in the first meeting, picking up 40.75 DraftKings points in the first meeting. Collison has been very inconsistent since a strong start. Maybe he can shake that, for one game at least, and turn in another solid performance against the Knicks.

J.J. Barea ($4,600): Denver has not defended the perimeter well this year. They have a tough matchup against a Dallas team that assaulted the Clippers almost non stop from the perimeter on Saturday. Barea doesn’t start, but he is one of the best bench shooters in the league. That makes Barea a strong play at this price point.

Tomas Satoransky ($4,100): Satoransky is still outplaying Tim Frazier by a large margin, but not starting. It doesn’t really matter. All that does is give Satoransky moderately less upside. He is going to have his hands full against the Jazz, but this could actually work out in our favor. Satoransky wont have to tangle with Rubio most of the time. He will run against the second string. There is still plenty of value to be had here.

My pick: Satoransky(PG), Walker(PG)

DraftKings
BOSTON, MA – DECEMBER 2: Devin Booker #1 of the Phoenix Suns carries the ball against the Boston Celtics during the second half at TD Garden on December 2, 2017 in Boston, Massachusetts. The Celtics defeat the Suns 116-111. (Photo by Maddie Meyer/Getty Images)

Shooting Guards:

Best Bets:

Victor Oladipo ($8,700): Oladipo lit up the Raptors on Friday night, dropping 65.75 DraftKings points. That marks three straight games over 5x value for Oladipo, who is cruising right now. Hardaway has already been ruled out, so Oladipo’s matchup with the Knicks looks even better. His price has increased to the point where we probably need to pick and choose, but Oladipo still looks like a solid play tonight.

Devin Booker ($7,800): Booker put up a season high 38 on Boston on Saturday. He has another good matchup here since we know that Redick doesn’t/can’t play defense. Booker shoudl see a ton of open shots here as well, but as always, beware of his inconsistency.

Honorable Mention:

Tyreke Evans ($7,300): Don’t pay any attention to that red number to the right of Evans’ name. Evans has been starting at the point lately, and we all know what a disaster the Timberwolves are against point guards. Evans has been outstanding while running the point with Conley out. the injury to Chalmers was a blessing in disguise for the Grizzlies because they got to see just how well things could go with Evans at the point.

Donovan Mitchell ($6,900): You know, at times it seems that we have only scratched the surface of what Mitchell can do. The rookie racked up 53.5 DraftKings points on the Pelicans on Friday. Washington will provide a little more resistance, but not much. This looks like another strong game for Mitchell.

Jimmy Butler ($6,900): With Evans on the point, that means Butler should get someone else defensively. Butler has been on quite a roll lately, hitting at least 45 DraftKings points in four of the last five games. I trust Butler more than most right now.

Dark Horses:

Dwyane Wade ($5,600): Wade returns home, but with a different team this time. Wade put up 23 DraftKings points in just 18 minutes in the first running with the Bulls. Now, Wade is playing at least 25 minutes per game, so it’s very likely that Wade tops 30 DraftKings points for the fifth straight game, and sixth in the last seven.

Courtney Lee ($5,200): Lee came up huge with Hardaway out yesterday. The Pacers are horrible defending the wing, meaning Lee will see a high volume of shots in this game as well. With the way Lee has been shooting, he is in for over 7x value. No, I’m not kidding.

Alec Burks ($4,000): Burks has put up 89 DraftKings points in the two games without Rodney Hood. Hood did not practice yesterday, so it appears likely that Burks will get another chance to put up silly numbers for his price. You do realize that he has over 10x value in the last two games, right? He is a dream value tonight if Hood is out again.

David Nwaba ($3,800): Nwaba picked up where he left off after missing almost a month with an ankle sprain, picking up 27.25 DraftKings points against the Kings. This is a similarly enticing matchup for Nwaba here against Cleveland. The Bulls are going to let him play about half the game, so I could see Nwaba around 8x value tonight.

My pick: Butler(SG), Wade(G); Burks(UTIL); Burks(SG), Nwaba(G)

DraftKings
ATLANTA, GA – NOVEMBER 30: LeBron James #23 of the Cleveland Cavaliers looks to drive against Ersan Ilyasova #7 of the Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena on November 30, 2017 in Atlanta, Georgia. (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)

Small Forwards:

Best Bets:

LeBron James ($11,800): The King putp up 64.5 DraftKings points in his first meeting with the Bulls. LeBron has at least 52 DraftKings points in all but one game since the start of November. Say what you want about him, but we are seeing why he is the King. LeBron is dominating the basketball world again. He looks to be well worth the money again.

Giannis Antetokounmpo ($10,600): If LeBron is King, then Giannis is the Prince. Ready to inherit the NBA Kingdom which LeBron has helped build. For DFS purposes, it is perfectly acceptable to fade LeBron tonight. The Celtics have surrendered 122.75 DraftKings points to Giannis in only two games. That puts him close to LeBron’s output and saves you $1,200.

Kevin Durant ($9,000): KD throws hit name into the NBA Trinity here. He racked up 50 DraftKings points on the Pelicans in the first meeting. If he can do that again, it is also acceptable to take the step down to Durant. With the multi position eligibility of all of these guys on DraftKings, you could conceivably roll with all three of them. There is ample value to do so.

Honorable Mention:

Will Barton ($6,900): With so many injuries up front, the Nuggets have been rolling with four guards and Jokic lately. So even though Dallas is one of the better defenses in the league, the Nuggets could still give them some issues. Barton has 86 DraftKings points in two games running with this current lineup. He is the most sure thing of any of the stable of Denver guards.

T.J. Warren ($6,700): Warren isn’t the most consistent guy, and he could have some issues with Covington on him, but he can shoot with just about anyone. Detroit was the only team that held Warren under 25 DraftKings points in the last eight games. Warren is going to score, and a lot. I don’t even really think Covington can slow him down all that much.

Harrison Barnes ($6,600): Barnes is going to be a matchup nightmare for a largely undersized Denver squad tonight. We have seen Barnes put up some really good numbers for Dallas this season. It is likely going to happen again tonight.

Robert Covington ($6,200): If you are a frequent flier with me here, you know what a fan of Covington I am for DFS purposes on most nights. Phoenix doesn’t defend well, and Covington is enough of an athlete to keep up with the Suns team.

Dark Horses:

Justin Holiday ($5,600): Holiday put up 37.5 DraftKings points in the first meeting with Cleveland. Holiday is more consistent than Denzel Valentine, and also a better shooter. The Bulls are starting to grow up together as a team, which is what the brass was hoping would happen. I still think they need to find a home for Bobby Portis and get a young center in there, but the three wing slots seem filled nicely right now, with Holiday being the best for fantasy purposes.

Evan Fournier ($5,500): Fournier tipped the scales with 36.25 DraftKings points in the first game against the Hornets this year. If they could somehow find out a way to get Howard out to the wings to defend, the Hornets would be a pretty good team. Until they get someone outside who can disrupt a shot though, opposing teams will continue putting up big points on them.

Jonathan Simmons ($5,000): Simmons absolutely torched the Hornets for 45.5 DraftKings points in the first game. He has taken over seamlessly for Terrence Ross, and that Orlando offense has topped the century mark in six straight games. Now if they could only figure out how to stop people….

My pick: James(SF), Antetokounmpo(F); Antetokounmpo(SF)

DraftKings
DALLAS, TX – NOVEMBER 14: LaMarcus Aldridge #12 of the San Antonio Spurs in the second half at American Airlines Center on November 14, 2017 in Dallas, Texas. (Photo by Ronald Martinez/Getty Images)

Power Forwards

Best Bets:

LaMarcus Aldridge ($8,300): Aldridge and Tony Parker rested yesterday, which was disappointing for DFS players. LMA had a much better matchup on a short slate yesterday. His matchup with Detroit is still a solid one though, especially after seeing what Markieff Morris did to the Pistons up front on Saturday. The only way I don’t like this is if Pop does something crazy like sitting Pau and using Aldridge at center.

Kevin Love ($8,200): Love went for 40 DraftKings points in the first meeting with the Bulls. I do like this a lot less if Robin Lopez winds up on Love, and will fade accordingly if that is the case. There are so many great options across the board tonight to roll with something you aren’t very confident in.

Aaron Gordon ($7,900): Gordon put up 41.75 DraftKings points in the first meeting with Charlotte. This is a great matchup for Gordon since Charlotte doesn’t have size at the four either. Gordon’s size and ability is far beyond what the Hornets can guard here. It will be an issue again tonight.

Honorable Mention:

Otto Porter ($6,600): Porter has really helped pick up the scoring slack with Wall out. This is a tougher matchup with Utah though. I wouldn’t normally consider Porter here, but this position is pretty thin on middle tier options. Utah is going to shut the guards down, so a lot is going to fall on the shoulders of Porter here. Can he capitalize on it?

Lauri Markkanen ($6,100): Markkanen put up 32.5 DraftKings points in the first meeting with Cleveland. The rookie has become a big part of this offense, and really the only scoring threat on the interior. It doesn’t appear as though Nikola Mirotic will play tonight, so Markkanen will still see plenty of minutes.

Taj Gibson ($4,900): Gibson is hard to rely on, but he had a nice streak going before the Thunder shut him down over the weekend. As a reprieve, Gibson gets a Memphis team that has been chewed up by other power forwards this year. There is potential for a big game from Gibson relative to his price.

Dark Horses:

Dario Saric ($5,600): Saric has been a key component of this lineup for the last few weeks and has hit 5x value in five of the last seven games. His game should translate well to Phoenix’s style of play. Then again, Phoenix is one of those few teams that could actually match him up. It wont happen from the power forward position though, and I just don’t see Phoenix making Chandler chase him around all game.

Kenneth Faried ($4,800): Don’t look now, but Faried has four straight games of more than 20 DraftKings points. He has also played at least 21 minutes in all of those games. I’m still nervous with Mike Malone calling the shots, but Faried has been a huge boon on the boards, and is 13-17 from the floor over the last two games. I don’t think Denver can afford to not play him at this point. I see another strong game from Faried.

Luke Babbitt ($4,000): The Hawks couldn’t wait to get someone -anyone- from this battered frontcourt back. Ilyasova has been a huge disappointment, so I could see Babbitt starting and playing well over 30 minutes. When he was doing that with Ilyasova out, Babbitt was a constant source of 5-8x value. I love him as a value play tonight.

Michael Beasley ($3,500): It was Beasley, not Kyle O’Quinn, that started in place of Porzingis yesterday. Porzingis is out again, and Beasley put up a beastly performance yesterday with 26.25 DraftKings points. He is a huge value play tonight. I will get separation elsewhere. I want in on this action!

My pick: Beastley(PF); Gordon(PF), Babbitt(F)

DraftKings
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – NOVEMBER 07: DeMarcus Cousins #0 of the New Orleans Pelicans celebrates after tipping in a basket in the final minute of the fourth quarter against the Indiana Pacers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on November 7, 2017 in Indianapolis, Indiana. (Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty Images)

Center:

Best Bets:

DeMarcus Cousins ($11,000): Cousins was somewhat of a disappointment on Saturday, only putting up 50 DraftKings points even with Davis out. Boogie has 107.75 DraftKings points through two games against the Warriors this year. Again, this looks like a place where Boogie should dominate. The Warriors are weak on the inside, so expect Cousins to do some serious damage tonight.

Joel Embiid ($9,800): This is a game where it looks like Embiid could put up some huge numbers. The Suns couldn’t guard him in two games last year, and they didn’t improve much on the interior. Monroe couldn’t guard him while with the Bucks. I don’t know that Embiid will outscore Boogie, but he could get pretty close.

Honorable Mention:

Andre Drummond ($8,800): Pau Gasol really isn’t set up to tangle with a monster like Drummond. Expect Drummond to dominate the boards in this one and score enough to get him the bonus for the double-double. I don’t see a huge game for Drummond, but I do see 5x value.

Marc Gasol ($8,100): Gasol is a really good all around player and has the offensive skills to put up some pretty big numbers against Towns. We have seen some improvement on the part of Towns defensively lately, but not enough to move me off of Gasol if he fits my budget.

Dwight Howard ($7,700): Howard put up 40 DraftKngs points on Orlando the first time around. It will likely happen again. Vucevic can’t handle Howard’s size, and Biyombo isn’t thick enough to keep from being pushed around. Expect a strong game from Howard here.

Al Horford ($7,600): The Bucks have surrendered 81.75 DraftKings points to Horford in two games so far this year. They can’t really handle him up from with Henson, nor could they with Monroe. Horford is in line for another strong game tonight.

Dark Horses:

John Henson ($4,600): Henson has 27.25 DraftKings points in 33 minutes this season against the Celtics. Now that he will play at least half the game, Henson is a solid value pick. He has little to no upside, but the is 5x value at a position that has a steep drop off in the middle tier.

Mason Plumlee ($4,300): Plumlee picked up 28 DraftKings points starting for Jokic on Saturday night. He will be called upon again against Dallas, and makes a superb value pick since he will start and play at least 30 minutes for a very low price.

Miles Plumlee ($3,400): What is this world coming to? Both Plumlees starting in the NBA tonight? You better believe it. Both Atlanta and Denver are decimated up front and all able bodies are in play. The Plumlee brothers are sure to get at least 20 DraftKings points each, so play them if you need them!

My pick: Mi. Plumlee(C); Drummond(C), Mi. Plumlee(UTIL)
