Mike McGlinchey

Offensive Tackle, Notre Dame

Another terrible surprise this season has been the play of the Denver Broncos, who looked so good early on in 2017. Since that wonderful start, they have started three different players at quarterback, and their once elite defense has looked beatable. They have a ton of question marks at the quarterback position, but their real necessity is to bring in a player who can help bolster the offensive line moving forward.

The Broncos selected an offensive tackle in the first round last year, but that should not stop  them from drafting another one next April. Notre Dame left tackle Mike McGlinchey is a good looking tackle prospect, and has the size and strength to stay on the left side at the next level. The Broncos need to be solid up front if they are going to become relevant again, and McGlinchey can help them do that.

If Denver can grab a left tackle early in round one, they should have two young bookend tackles for at least the next five years. We saw early this season what that can mean for a team, as Jason Peters and Lane Johnson were so dominant for Philadelphia before Peters was injured. Denver has the talent on defense to win games, but they are going to sputter on offense if they keep putting a Swiss cheese line in front of their quarterbacks.
