FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy Hockey lineup – December 6, 2017
By Paul Horvat
High Salary Defensemen
Erik Karlsson, OTT at ANH($6600): With one goal, 16 assists and 22 blocked shots, Karlsson leads the high-priced guys tonight. His production lately has some scared off this talented defender, however you can’t deny the upside. Tonight is a fade for this high-priced assist guy, we need goals on a short slate and with plenty of value tonight he’s not worth the risk.
John Carlson WAS vs. CHI ($5400): Now for our second Carlson of the night, John plays huge minutes and get overlooked in DFS. The reason his price is higher is simple, looking back at game logs it’s truly amazing how often he hits value and shows up on the stat sheet. Hoping he is under valued again tonight could be a tremendous opportunity to play him for a stable floor.
Shayne Gostisbehere,PHI at EDM ($5400): This game has the makings of a shoot out and we need solid performers. Gostisbehere is a high ceiling heavy minute player. Time on ice is the ket to collecting fantasy points. because his floor is 12 to 13 fantasy points tonight and his average minutes sit at 22 per game this is a great spot to pay up in a potential high scoring game.
High Value Defensemen
T.J. Brodie, CGY vs TOR ($4200): Not the name you would expect to show up for a Flames defensemen right? With Brodie getting the point on the Flames power play and his tendency to be more of an offensive-minded defender he is the value play you must have if you’re stacking the Flames tonight.
Jake Gardiner, TOR at CGY ($3800): For much the same reason you play Brodie, Gardiner is in a similar place. With two goals, 11 assists and 37 blocked shots, he looks more like the highest priced guy tonight, except you get him for a measly $3800. Lock him in and move on don’t think about just do it.
Dmitry Orlov, WAS at CHI ($3700): Finally we arrive at the solid low-owned filler for your lineup. Here’s the deal he is not flashy at all he plays on the second line and shoots the puck towards the net. On the other side of the ice he’s got 36 blocked shots on the year. He plays 22 minutes average per game over his last six if he blocks a few shots and get an assist you have five times value.
