The Kansas City Chiefs decided to suspended All-Pro cornerback Marcus Peters for their Week 14 matchup against the Oakland Raiders.
On Sunday, Chiefs corner Marcus Peters made all the highlights for an action that resulted in a declined penalty. Peters picked up a flag thrown by the official and threw it into the stands at MetLife Stadium in the fourth quarter of a 38-31 loss to the New York Jets.
Peters, 24, then left the field of play before returning without socks on. There is debate to whether or not he thought was ejected, but regardless, Kansas City head coach Andy Reid has suspended one of his best players for a crucial AFC West showdown this weekend at Arrowhead Stadium.
Peters has more takeaways than any other player sine he was drafted in 2015, twice making the Pro Bowl. However, he has consistently been a volatile player, earning multiple personal foul penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct this season.
Last year, Peters punted a ball into the stands in a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars during a celebration of a fumble recovery. After Reid instructed Peters not to do it again, Peters did exactly that the following weekend after recovering another fumble against the Carolina Panthers.

Without Peters, the Chiefs stand little chance of beating the Raiders. Both teams are 6-6, but Kansas City is reeling like none other, losing six of its past seven. Last week, Kansas City allowed 331 passing yards to Josh McCown, who was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week.
Peters has one more year remaining on his rookie deal followed by a team option.
