For all the good Mr. Robot has done in season 3, last week’s episode was easily the weakest one yet. Elliot spent most of the episode with Trenton’s annoying little brother and trying to delete everything, including Mr. Robot himself. But there were two important scenes at the end — the first being Elliot confronting Angela, which seemed to finally snap her out of her delusion, and an email from Trenton which details how he can possibly undo the five/nine hack.
Of course, that email won’t undo what has already happened, but it could prevent a further tragedy. Whiterose doesn’t seem intent on stopping with Stage 2, while the FBI are nowhere close to bringing her to justice. Elliot may not like the FBI for making Darlene their confidential informant, but they need each other now more than ever.
