The Lakers and 76ers went down to the wire on Thursday night, and Brandon Ingram came through in the clutch.

The Los Angeles Lakers were in Philadelphia to take on the 76ers Thursday night, and it did not disappoint. The last time these two teams faced off against each other, Joel Embiid thoroughly dominated the Lakers. It was the same story again this time around as Embiid finished with 33 points, seven rebounds and six assists in 36 minutes.

The Lakers led this game by as much as 16 points, and essentially led the entire night. The Sixers, as expected, wouldn’t go down without a fight. They entered the fourth quarter trailing by 12 points, and managed to tie the game at 101 with about two-and-a-half minutes left in the game.

In the end, it was the Lakers that came out victorious thanks to Brandon Ingram.

Brandon Ingram knocked down the game-winning 3-pointer with only .8 remaining on the clock. The last 45 seconds of this game was incredible. Lonzo Ball took and missed a 3-pointer with 29 seconds left, and then Embiid missed his go-ahead shot with 12 seconds left. Ingram probably had the best night of any Laker. He finished with 21 points, seven rebounds and six assists including the game-winner.

Next: Grizzlies path to the playoffs

As for Ball who takes a lot of criticism, some of it justified, he had played extremely well. He filled the stat sheet and almost recorded the rare five-by-five. He finished 10 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, three blocks and four steals. His final assist was the right basketball play. He caught the ball in the corner, and knowing the 3-pointer hasn’t been kind to him this season, drove to the basket and kicked it out to a wide-open Ingram.

The win Thursday night for the Lakers snapped a five-game losing streak, and got them off on the right foot for their four-game road trip. As for the Sixers, they’ve now lost three of their last four games, and have a date with LeBron James and the Cavs on Saturday.
