Colts at Bills: Preview, prediction, odds and pick

JACKSONVILLE, FL - DECEMBER 03: Frank Gore
JACKSONVILLE, FL - DECEMBER 03: Frank Gore

We’re getting ready to see the Indianapolis Colts and Buffalo Bills square off on Sunday afternoon. Which team will prevail in this contest?

It began without Andrew Luck and would eventually feature Jacoby Brissett. Yes, it’s the quarterback situation for the Indianapolis Colts. There was the Week 1 start for Scott Tolzien but for Chuck Pagano’s team, the former New England Patriots’ product has taken the reins and done his best. Brissett has 10 TD passes and 10 turnovers. But he’s also been sacked a whopping 47 times.

As for the Buffalo Bills, their leading signal-caller isn’t practicing these days. Tyrod Taylor injured his knee in last Sunday’s home loss to the New England Patriots. Could rookie Nathan Peterman be preparing to make his second start this weekend against the Colts? Regardless, it’s a highly-important game for Sean McDermott’s slumping squad.

Line: NA

Over/Under: NA

Early in the week and with uncertainty surrounding the status of Bills’ quarterback Tyrod Taylor (knee), there was no line for this game no matter where you looked – including OddsShark. Understandably, that also included an over/under when it came to this contest.

Only three teams in the NFL have allowed more total yards per game than the Indianapolis Colts. But thanks to their recent slump, the Buffalo Bills (27th in defense) are not currently much better and trending downward. We could see a nice battle between veteran running backs Frank Gore and LeSean McCoy, along with a smattering of Colts’ rookie Marlon Mack. The Bills still have an outside shot of reaching the playoffs for the first time since 1999 and at least temporarily, they figure to stay alive here.

Pick: Bills 31, Colts 21
