3. LaVar Ball rule

If you were one to think Lonzo Ball making it to the big leagues would quiet his father, LaVar Ball, think again. In fact, LaVar’s gotten more vocal since Lonzo’s NBA career began earlier this season. In any other case, the outspoken father would step back and let his son’s play do the talking, but not with LaVar. LaVar’s got a brand to build and two other sons to promote. His seemingly asinine takes on various subjects are what got his family the spotlight, after all.

However, it seems as if LaVar’s going to have to take a seat and silence himself from now on. At least at the Staples Center, where Lonzo plays his home games. The Lakers will now begin enforcing a rule in which the media is banned from interviewing guests of players in the section of Staples Center in which family members and guests sit for the game. According to the Lakers, the rule was already in place, but wasn’t being enforced. However, after media seemed to prioritize LaVar’s interviews over Lonzo’s (and I mean, can you blame them? LaVar is hysterical), the Lakers have had enough. The rule is being dubbed the ‘LaVar Ball rule’, for obvious reasons.

Of course, this won’t stop LaVar Ball from speaking out at Lakers games. He’ll find another way around it or he’ll simply ignore the rule. But, there can be consequences to breaking that rule. LaVar will always sniff out the press though and that won’t change anytime soon. He’s here to stay, so get used to LaVar’s antics and foolish comments.
