In a game with little playoff implications, the New York Jets will head West to take on the Denver Broncos in AFC action on Sunday.

Coming into the 2017 NFL season, many expected the New York Jets to be very bad. During the offseason, they traded away most of their veteran talent, and it looked like they would tank in order to get one of the coveted quarterbacks in the 2018 NFL Draft. Well, they have actually played a lot better than advertised, and are fresh off a solid victory against the Kansas City Chiefs this past weekend, in a game that saw quarterback Josh McCown named AFC Offensive Player of the Week.

For Denver, there actually were some expectations coming into the season, but they have been one of the worst teams in the AFC in 2017. First-year head coach Vance Joseph is suddenly on the hot seat after starting off 3-9, and the quarterback position has been a game of musical chairs through the first nine games. This team is lost on both sides of the ball, and the Jets have an opportunity to move to 6-7 with a win on Sunday.

Kickoff begins at 4:05pm ET, and outside of Jets and Broncos fans, this one will not be one of the more watched games of the weekend. The Broncos are tough to play at home, and their defense is still solid, but the offense is giving them nothing right now. The Jets are playing with confidence, and McCown looks like the perfect quarterback for this young team.

With a loss, the Broncos will fall to 3-10, which is certainly not where they expected to be after a good start to the season. The Jets are still in line to select fairly high in the 2018 NFL Draft, but they also are technically alive in the AFC Playoff race. Head coach Todd Bowles is saving his job with how well he is coaching up the young players this season, and he could pull out the road victory on Sunday.
