It’s Week 14 of the 2017 NFL season. One of the games going on Sunday afternoon will be between the San Francisco 49ers (2-10) and the Houston Texans (4-8). Kickoff from NRG Stadium in Houston will be at 1:00 p.m. ET on Dec. 10.
San Francisco enters play at 2-10 and in last place in the NFC West. The 49ers have been eliminated from playoff contention in the NFC. While the 49ers are almost certainly picking in the top-five, they do have their next franchise quarterback in Jimmy Garoppolo. Look for him to continue to get some much-needed reps and grow as the 49ers starter going forward.
Houston enters play at 4-8 on the year and in third place in the AFC South. The Texans are four games back of both the Tennessee Titans (8-4) and the Jacksonville Jaguars (8-4) in the AFC South race. Houston is three games back of the Baltimore Ravens (7-5) for the final playoff spot in the AFC. It’s been a rough season for the Texans and they will likely see their playoff dreams crushed in the next week or so.
