Swansea and West Brom are both fighting a relegation battle as the Premier League season nears its halfway point. The Swans are at the very bottom of the table, with nine points. West Brom are 17th, with 13 points, three clear of the relegation zone.

Swansea fell 2-1 to Stoke in their last game. However, Wilfried Bony scored his first goal of the season. The Swans have to hope that Bony catches fire and rediscovers his goalscoring touch. Swansea have a Premier League low eight goals this season, with Tammy Abraham leading the club with four goals. While Paul Clement’s team have been unable to find goals, they have played well defensively, allowing only 18 goals, the ninth fewest in the league. Lukasz Fabianski again has been one of the bright spots for the Swans, performing admirably in goal despite facing a high number of shots.

After firing Tony Pulis, West Brom appointed Alan Pardew as their manager. Pardew led the club to a scoreless draw in his managerial debut with the club. The draw was the Baggies third straight but the team is still looking for its first win since Aug. 19. Much like their opponents on Saturday, West Brom have struggled to score goals. The Baggies have scored the fourth fewest goals in the Premier League with 12. However, no West Brom player has scored more than two goals.

West Brom and Swansea both won on their home fields last season. The Baggies won 3-1 at The Hawthorns but Swansea won the return fixture 2-1 at Liberty Stadium on the last day of the season.
