LeBron James has some of the best fans in sports, and here is why they deserve to be atop the Fandom 250.

It is LeBron James’ 15th season in the NBA and yet we all find ourselves asking: Is he still getting better at basketball? As of Dec. 8, LeBron is surpassing his career averages in points, rebounds, assists and blocks while averaging fewer turnovers and shooting career-highs from the field and from three. To say there is reason to root for this guy is an understatement.

The reason LeBron fans are the best in sports is because it is no longer about the idea of just chasing championships for his fans. Yes, they would all love to see Kings James hoist his fourth Finals MVP after bringing the Cavaliers their second championship, but even if he doesn’t find a way to win it all, we know that watching LeBron play basketball will be well worth it.

Take last year’s Finals as an example. Sure, it was tough watching his team get finished off in five games, but witnessing the King post the first triple-double average in Finals history (33.6 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists on 56.4 percent shooting) was almost good enough—especially against a historically good Warriors team.

The questions surrounding LeBron for his fans are no longer about catching Jordan or championships won. His resume is already enough to put him toe-to-toe with MJ for GOAT contention, so now it’s just about enjoying the show as much as possible. And when watching LeBron, you no longer think about what will he do in June, but instead, you have to wonder whether he’ll stay in the league long enough to play with his oldest son or if he can become the first player in league history to win Finals MVP for three different teams. How can you not root for a guy who is still raising his own ceiling at age 32?
