Crystal Palace are still last in the Premier League but manager Roy Hodgson has the club moving in the right direction. The Eagles have picked up points in five straight games but have only one win over that stretch. Palace have settled for ties in their past three games. On Tuesday, Palace host Watford at Selhurst Park. Watford are ninth in the Premier League after suffering their second loss in three games.
After failing to pick up a point or score a goal in their first seven games, Crystal Palace are a win away from potentially exiting the bottom three. Palace have picked up seven points in their last five games and now have 11 points this season. However, the club has struggled to score goals and has the second-fewest in the Premier League. Wilfried Zaha leads the club with three goals but has not scored in his last four games. Defensively, only three clubs have allowed more goals than Crystal Palace but Palace have kept clean sheets in two of their past three games.
Watford lost 1-0 to Burnley in their last game after left-back Marvin Zeegelaar picked up a red card. Burnley’s Scott Arfield scored the winner minutes after Zeegelaar’s sending off. After a great start to the season under Marco Silva, Watford have fallen back. The Hornets have lost five of their last eight games. Defensively, Watford have allowed the fourth most goals this season but have scored the seventh most goals in the league. Richarlison and Abdoulaye Doucouré have each scored five goals for the Hornets. However, the duo have combined for only one goal over the past four games.
