Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters this week. How long is the run time of the eighth installment in the franchise?

The anticipation is mounting as Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters this week. After the events in The Force Awakens pushed forward a new generation, things are about to take an interesting turn.

Of course, when it comes to Star Wars, there are very few movies if any that can ever come close to trying to match the anticipation and build that this one has. The theaters will be packed for early showings on Thursday night, to say the least.

The previous installment grossed over $2 billion worldwide, and this new one will certainly look to push a high number as well. It’s also going to have a fairly long runtime as well for a Star Wars movie.

The Force Awakens had a runtime of 135 minutes. Star Wars: The Last Jedi will run for 152 minutes. Those 17 extra minutes leave for plenty of build in the eighth installment of this franchise.

Rogue: One, the spinoff film that came out last year, had a runtime of 133 minutes. Needless to say, The Last Jedi is going to be a lengthy film. With the return of Luke Skywalker and Kylo Ren’s continued internal conflict during his transformation to the dark side, this film is certainly going to have plenty to cover. That’s why the lengthy run time should come as absolutely no shock to anyone, especially for a middle installment that will play a huge role in setting up Episode IX.
