Martinas Rankin

Offensive Tackle, Mississippi State

The Philadelphia Eagles are currently the No. 1 seed in the NFC, and on Sunday, they clinched the NFC East. However, the big win came with the biggest loss, as star quarterback Carson Wentz tore up his knee. Wentz was playing at an MVP level prior to getting injured, and now the team will have to make their run towards the Super Bowl with Nick Foles under center the rest of the way.

Foles had his best seasons of his NFL career with the Birds, so fans are familiar with him. However, you cannot replace a player like Wentz, and it will take a total team effort for them to continue this magical season. In addition to Wentz, the Eagles also lost their star offensive tackle in recent weeks, and that is the position they may look to draft when they select in the first round in April.

The 2018 NFL Draft is loaded with talent at the offensive tackle position, and Martinas Rankin from Mississippi State is certainly a good looking prospect. He has the size to be a starter in the NFL right away, although it is uncertain as to whether he stays on the left side. If Jason Peters does not return, the Eagles could always move Lane Johnson to the left side, while sliding in Rankin on the right.
