The next Star Wars movie after The Last Jedi will be titled Solo and be about a young Han Solo. Here is when it will be released.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is finally here after what feels like decades of waiting, but, for those of you who have just seen the film, you are probably wondering when the next Star Wars film will come out.

The next Star Wars movie, Solo, will come out on May 25. 2018.

Solo, as the title suggests, features a young Han Solo and has been in the works for a long time. Even the casting was controversial, as a popular internet Han Solo-impressionist was widely popularized well before the movie even was announced. Solo will be played by Alden Ehrenreich, and he will be joined by Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson and Thandie Newton among others.

May 25 is really not too much of a wait for another Star Wars movie from the release of The Last Jedi. Hopefully, this signals a trend for Star Wars that is similar to Marvel, as every five to seven months it seems that a new Marvel film is released.

Now owned by Disney, this could definitely be a possibility, as the company attempts to replicate the success that they had with Marvel with Star Wars.

While some might be annoyed by the influx of Star Wars films, I am of the mindset that all Star Wars content is good Star Wars content. Now, if only they had decided to go with the Expanded Universe (whoops, I mean “Legends”) instead of some of these poorly thought out characterizations of classic Star Wars characters — but that’s a complaint for another time.
