As the year comes to a close, here are 10 WWE storylines from 2017 that made the product better.

What a year it’s been in WWE.

2017 brought many interesting storylines to the WWE Universe, didn’t it? However, while some may have been interesting, let’s not pretend that all of them were good. I mean, I know how riveting the breakup of The Hype Bros has been recently but you know as well as I do that you won’t be seeing that on this particular list.

Whether you’ve been watching WWE for a year or five years or 30 years like I have, you know that not every storyline is going to be a winner. I’m not even saying that they all have to be perfect but some are just so ridiculous that you might even pretend that you’re going to stop watching. I can’t tell you how many times I read comments on an article or Facebook or Twitter after a pay-per-view or on a Monday and Tuesday night and see the words “I’m done” written there. I may even have thought it a time or two but I’m still right back the next week wondering how things are going to play out. Come on, we’ve all done it.

Then there are those storylines that start off nicely and just go to waste. We certainly saw a few of those in 2017. Take the Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt feud from early in the year. That whole thing was going so well with Bray FINALLY getting his chance to hold the WWE Championship and Orton waiting in the wings after his Royal Rumble win. The segment in which Orton burned down the Wyatt compound was fantastic and I was really looking forward to their match at WrestleMania. Then it all went downhill from there. The House of Horrors followed and we all know how that went down.

Speaking of Randy Orton, we have to talk about him dropping the title to Jinder Mahal. Remember how jacked everyone was for that? Countless “you can’t hinder the Jinder” comments were thrown around social media and it was interesting to see the creative team think outside the box and surprise the WWE Universe with something new. But what happened? They took it too far, dragged it out too long and Jinder Mahal now sits in the top 25 on the all-time list for total time with the WWE Championship. Yes, I’m talking about 3MB Jinder Mahal here.

However, while it’s always easier to focus on the negative, I’m here today to talk about some of the positive things that happened in WWE in 2017, the storylines that got us excited and kept us excited for a little while.

Here’s a look at 10 WWE storylines that made wrestling interesting this year.
