We’re getting ready to see the New York Giants host the Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon. Which team will prevail in this contest?

Talk about opposite ends of the spectrum? The NFC East champion Philadelphia Eagles have won 11 games and are headed to the playoffs for the first time since 2013. The last-place New York Giants have lost 11 times and are having their worst season in nearly two decades.

The Birds are now minus starting quarterback Carson Wentz, who suffered a season-ending knee injury in last Sunday’s road win over the Los Angeles Rams. Enter reserve Nick Foles, on his second tour of duty with the Eagles and now the main man behind center. Can he help take this team reach the Super Bowl for the first time since 2004 and actually win an NFL championship for the first time since 1960?

Odds

Line: Eagles (-7.5)

Over/Under: 40

Even without their star quarterback and league MVP candidate, OddsShark informs us that Philadelphia is a 7.5-point favorite to knock off the Giants for the second time this season.

There’s still much at stake for the Philadelphia Eagles. A win over the New York Giants gives the Birds a first-round bye. Combine that with a loss by the Minnesota Vikings and Pederson’s club will own home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs. Although it’s been a down year for the G-Men, expect a big effort from them in this contest. The team is relegated to playing spoiler and the defense could give Foles a few things to think about. But the Eagles are simply too good and that deep and talented defensive line has eyes for Eli Manning.

Pick: Eagles 20, Giants 16
