The New Orleans Saints will host the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon in Week 15. Here is a game preview, the betting odds and a final score prediction.

Week 15 of the 2017 NFL season has arrived. One game that will be happening on early Sunday afternoon in the NFL will be between the New York Jets (5-8) and the New Orleans Saints (9-4). Kickoff from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome will be at 1:00 p.m. ET on Dec. 17. CBS will have the telecast with Kevin Harlan and Rich Gannon in the booth to call the game.

New York is 5-8 on the season and alive only barely in the AFC wild card race. The Jets have been eliminated from the divisional race, but could theoretically get into the AFC playoffs should they win out and chaos happens. It’s not likely at all, but this team wasn’t expected to get five wins this season either.

New Orleans is 9-4 through 13 games this season. Though the Saints have the same record as the division rival Carolina Panthers, the Saints have the head-to-head tiebreaker after completing the season sweep of the Panthers back in Week 13. New Orleans feels like a lock to make the NFC playoffs. If they win the division, that will be the Saints’ first division title since 2011. If they get in as a wild card team, well, that will be the Saints’ first playoff berth since 2013. All good things.

Betting Odds

Point Spread: New Orleans -16
Moneylines: New Orleans -1,100, New York +797
Over/Under: 47.5

According to OddsShark, the Saints will be laying a whopping 16 points at home to the visiting Jets. The associated moneylines for this game are New Orleans -1,100 and New York +797. This game’s over/under comes in at a combined 47. 5 points.

The Saints are a massive favorite in this game due to the discrepancy at the quarterback position. Had Josh McCown been the starter for the Jets, the spread would be about a touchdown or so. With McCown out for the rest of the season with a broken arm, that leaves it up to Bryce Petty and maybe even Christian Hackenberg the rest of the way for Gang Green. Not good.

Since this game is being played indoors, let’s go with a slight over in this ball game. The Saints will score some points and maybe the Jets can put up a few scores in extreme garbage time to push this one over.

It would be a complete shocker if the Saints lost this game. They just lost a tough one 10 days ago to the arch rival Atlanta Falcons on Thursday Night Football in Week 14. Look for quarterback Drew Brees to lead the Saints offense down the field and score touchdowns on their first three possessions.

We might even see special teams ace Taysom Hill play some backup quarterback in the fourth quarter. The Saints win and cover in a complete laugher to get to 10-4 on the year and likely clinch a playoff spot.

Pick: Saints 34, Jets 17
