Jimmy Garoppolo and the 49ers will look to continue their brief winning streak when the Titans come to town on Sunday afternoon in Week 15.

Jimmy Garoppolo may be the future of the San Francisco 49ers after his solid performances over the last few weeks, but he’ll get a big test on Sunday when the Niners host the Tennessee Titans in an intriguing Week 15 matchup.

The Niners are on a two-game winning streak with Garoppolo under center, which possibly could be even longer if the team had started the former New England Patriots quarterback sooner after acquiring him. However, Garoppolo has only beaten the Chicago Bears and a battered Houston Texans defense in this successful stretch, and the Titans will provide a real challenge for him and the 49ers on Sunday.

On the other hand, the Titans have to be upset that Garoppolo is starting to succeed under center, specifically because they likely had the equivalent of the bye if he wasn’t starting for the team. They’re in a big hunt for the postseason in the AFC, and this one has some high stakes for a team down just one game in the AFC South.

Odds: 49ers -2, according to Odds Shark

It’s incredible that a team that didn’t their first win of the year until Week 11 can be the favorite against a team in the hunt for a divisional crown, but that’s where we’re at in the NFL right now. The 49ers have a chance to play spoiler on Sunday, and many believe they’ll actually do it.

Personally, I don’t see the 49ers pulling this one out like a lot of others would think, and I believe the Titans will go to the West Coast ready to gain some ground in the AFC South and the wild card race. They’ll win a close game, and set up some potential madness for Weeks 16 and 17.

Predicition: Titans 23, 49ers 20
