The Marshall Thundering Herd (7-5) looks to claim a victory at the 2017 GILDAN New Mexico Bowl after missing the 2016 bowl season while the Colorado State Rams look for their first victory in a bowl game after five straight bowl appearances. With two evenly matched teams, the New Mexico Bowl will be an exciting matchup to watch.

Marshall has a lot to prove after missing the 2016 bowl season following their 3-9 season. Marshall struggled toward the end of the season, going 1-4 in their final five games. In their final game against the Golden Eagles, though, quarterback Chase Litton had a 308-yard game. The Herd’s defense is listed at No. 18 this week with 19.25 points per game and their defense is listed at No. 13.

Colorado State’s offense has been averaging 289 yards per game compared to Marshall’s 237. Running back Dalyn Dawkins has notched over 100 yards per game in seven of his last eight games. In their final game of the season they had 305 passing yards in a victory over San Jose State.

With both teams fairly evenly matched, expect a fight to the finish in the 2017 New Mexico Bowl. It won’t be a high scoring game but do expect to see both teams going back and forth to secure the win.
