West Brom haven’t won a Premier League contest since the second matchweek in August. That’s 15 straight games without picking up three points. This slide cost Tony Pulis his job in November and he was replaced by Alan Pardew. Since taking over the job, Pardew has overseen two draws and one loss. Two of those games were against relegation battle fodder Crystal Palace and Swansea in which they only picked up one point. The Baggies desperately need a win for a number of reasons, but it’s hard to see them doing so against United on Sunday.
With United’s loss to rivals Manchester City last weekend, the title race between the two seems to be all but over. The loss saw United drop 11 points behind already. Jose Mourinho’s side did bounce back and get the win against Bournemouth in midweek, but is going to need a huge drop in form to have a shot at the top. All they can do now is continue to win matches, and that should continue against West Brom. Romelu Lukaku bounced back from a string of scoreless games with a header against Bournemouth, which is a good sign for United.
