Boston was handed a loss by the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night, as the Celtics uncharacteristically allowed 107 points. As of Saturday, the Celtics had fallen in four of their last 10 games, as the team appears to have cooled off a bit after a torrid start to the season. Al Horford missed Wednesday’s tilt against Utah for rest, but he should be back in the lineup against Indiana. Marcus Morris, however, will miss this contest with a knee injury and likely won’t be eligible to return until December 23.

Indiana continues to remain in the Eastern Conference playoff mix despite tepid preseason expectation. Victor Oladipo shined once again against Detroit last week (22 points), though the Pacers’ late comeback effort ultimately came up short. Oladipo has looked like a genuine star this season, and he’s quickly becoming a fan favorite at Bankers Life Fieldhouse after coming over in the trade that sent Paul George to Oklahoma City.

While Boston is certainly the favorite in this matchup, Indiana has proven that they can hang with some of the better teams in the NBA. While Oladipo has been a big reason for that, contributors like Thaddeus Young and Miles Turner deserve a lot of credit as well. The Pacers could struggle to contain Boston guard Kyrie Irving, which could end up being the difference in this one.
