More from DraftKings

DraftKings has brought the Euro League state side! They even have an app where we can watch the games that our picks are involved in!

The Euro league is a different animal. It is much more halfcourt oriented than the NBA game. The games are also eight minutes shorter. There are 16 teams in the Euro League instead of 30. That means a more shallow player pool to choose from.

We are in for a two round week this week for the last time this calendar year, and the first time in a month. Four of those games take place today. Everything is split pretty even in round 13!

Guards:

Tomorrow has more value plays, which is unfortunate since we have to find a way to afford Doncic today. The options under him are either hurt or have bad matchups.

Luka Doncic ($14,600): His price is becoming more of a burden, but Doncic is one of the best players in the league. With Calathes missing  both games this week, you either have to pay up for Doncic or put up with bad matchups for Wanamaker and Rochestie. At any rate, I’m paying for Doncic. With Calathes out, there is value at the guard position.

Kevin Pangos ($10,300): The former Gonzaga standout is scoring a bundle of points for Zalgiris lately. He put up 22 against Fenerbahce Istanbul in round 12. His shooting was always his major asset for Gonzaga, but Pangos picked up seven assists in that game too. That’s what really makes him worth using at this price. He is a suitable fade for Doncic if you don’t want to spend that much on one player.

Norris Cole ($9,500): Athens has been one of the tougher teams against guards this year, but Calathes had a lot to do with that. This is a good way to exploit the hole in Athens’ backcourt. I’m not expecting a huge game from Cole, but his ownership shouldn’t be all that high. He is a good way to gain separation.

Nikos Pappas($6,400) and Matt Lojeski($4,700): Some combination of these two will try to make up for the scoring and defense of Nick Calathes. Lojeski is the more consistent of the two, but has little upside. If one were going to step up big, it would likely be Pappas. He has struggled with consistency though.

TAMPA, FL – MARCH 17: James Nunnally #21 of the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos falls as he loses the ball driving against Patric Young #4 of the Florida Gators in the second half during the second round of the 2011 NCAA men’s basketball tournament at St. Pete Times Forum on March 17, 2011 in Tampa, Florida. Forwards:

Chris Singleton ($9,200): I am foregoing the headache of playing Dorell Wright and opting to go with Singleton instead. He is the most likely player to pick up the scoring with Calathes out. Singleton is already the leading scorer in the frontcourt, so expecting a little more from him is not out of hand. Jan Vesely is also a good option in this range.

Paulius Jankunas ($8,800): I am opting for the consistency of Jankunas over Bjelica or James Gist. I trust K.C. Rivers more if you need to go a little cheaper. Tibor Pleiss against Real Madrid looks like a sneaky good option as well.

James Nunnally ($7,400): Nunnally has been really good for the last four rounds. Istanbul has a good matchup tonight with Belgrade. Nunnally and Vesely have played well side by side lately. I am going to ride that against a weaker frontcourt.

Trey Thompkins ($6,700): Thompkins has been huge with all of the injures to the Real Madrid frontcourt. If you need to go cheap in the frontcourt, this is my favorite place of the night. I don’t really trust Rudy Fernandez. The consistency just is not there.
