The Cleveland Cavaliers are targeting the first week of January for the debut of Isaiah Thomas.

Isaiah Thomas appears ready to begin his new start with the Cleveland Cavaliers very soon. Per Shams Charania of The Vertical, Thomas is targeting the first week of January for his debut. The Cavaliers should be excited for the return of Thomas, who will give the already-hot Cavs another weapon on the floor.

The Cavaliers have gotten the most out of their roster. Although Derrick Rose has been absent due to injury and personal issues, the Cavaliers are currently 23-8, led by the timeless play of LeBron James. James and Kevin Love just need a healthy Thomas to help the Cavaliers for the second half of the season, according to Chris Barnewall of CBS Sports.

"With the return of Thomas on the horizon, the Cavaliers should finally be at full strength, and the timing could not have been better. They’ve won 18 of the last 19 games played. There is obviously light concern that the addition of Thomas back from injury could slow down Cleveland’s great play, but it’s better to get those problems out of the way in January than it is in April right before the playoffs. He will provide consistency to the starting point guard spot for Cleveland and another scoring threat to its already prolific offense."

The return of Thomas should make an already intriguing NBA season more interesting. Before the season, the consensus deemed Golden State as the clear frontrunner to win the NBA title. But the play of Houston, San Antonio, Philadelphia, and Cleveland puts that prediction into question. The return of Thomas will enhance the Cavaliers NBA title chances. But first, Thomas must see if he can fit in with Love and James on the floor.
