Dear Jerry Jones,

It’s been an up-and-down year, buddy. We lost Tony Romo, but he’s doing well at CBS thanks to our world-class retirement and broadcasting seminars. Dak Prescott emerged as our quarterback for the future, although people now question him without an offensive line. Ezekiel Elliott became the best running back in the league, which only we knew would happen. Dez Bryant is still the best receiver in the league.

Despite all the talent and the great regular season last year, we still couldn’t win in the playoffs. That makes last season a failure.

We almost got away with not having Elliott suspended, but that dastardly Roger Goodell thwarted us again. We both know he has it out for us, but could he make it any more obvious? Sure, we tried to prevent him from getting a new contract, but we were justified in that. We are on the side of the players. He is not. If he cared about the players like we do, he wouldn’t suspend a guy one game for trying to decapitate a player while suspending another guy four games for inflating a football.

Things don’t look so great this season, but it’s not always about the season in front of you, it’s about the seasons behind you. And man, we had some great seasons back in the 90s. All we have to do is replicate those years. Our time is coming. We’re too good looking and have too much money to fail.
