Dear Marvin Lewis,
Thank you for your years of service to the Cincinnati Bengals organization. Iām 15-years-old and youāve been the head coach ever since I started watching football. My parents are die hard Bengals fans and they donāt understand why youāre still the coach, but I think it makes perfect sense.
Youāre a good coach.
You have made the playoffs seven times, have developed two great quarterbacks and two Hall of Fame receivers, and have only finished last in the division just once since 2003. Why shouldnāt you be the head coach?
My parents like to criticize you because you havenāt won a playoff game, but neither have they. I donāt think they understand how tough it is to win a playoff game in the NFL. You can have a 28-3 lead and still lose.
I just wanted to write you to say that youāre doing a good job. It takes talent to manage the players like you do. You donāt let the players get out of line like those hooligans in Pittsburgh. I think upper management has failed you with the players theyāve signed and drafted, but you always get the best out of bad players. How many Bengals players have succeeded outside of Cincinnati?
Thatās a genuine question for you. My parents only allow me to watch Bengals football. Something about keeping me humble and protecting me from knowing too much.
I just wanted to say to keep on coaching, coach.
Top gift choice: For you to remain the Bengals head coach forever
Second choice: A playoff win
Signed, Steve Cook
