Maurice Hurst

Defensive Tackle, Michigan

With their win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday night, the Atlanta Falcons are keeping their chances of winning the NFC South alive. They have a rough road to go the last two games of the season, but they certainly have the talent on both sides of the ball to get there. Running back Devonta Freeman was a beast against the Bucs, putting the team on his back, but the team needs more from Julio Jones and company in the pass game if they want to get back to the Super Bowl.

Last year, the Falcons drafted Takkarist McKinley in the first round, adding another edge rusher to their defense. IN 2018, Atlanta should draft another defensive lineman, but they may want to bolster the inside of the defense with that pick. Dontari Poe has been a nice addition from Kansas City, but a guy like Michigan’s Maurice Hurst would add so much more depth up front moving forward.

Hurst is a wonderful prospect, who has the athletic ability to get up and down the line. He is one of the hardest hitters in the Big Ten, and his athleticism allows him to even track down running backs from behind. He is going to be a solid player at the next level, and with so many playmakers on offense, the Falcons could use another standout player on the defensive side of the ball.
