Saquon Barkley

Running Back, Penn State

If the season ended tomorrow, the Cleveland Browns would have two of the top four picks in the 2018 NFL Draft, and they may decide to go offense with both picks. There is no doubt the Browns will take a quarterback first overall, as that position has been one of need for the organization for what seems like forever. With their second pick in round one, look for them to take a running back, and Saquon Barkley from Penn State is definitely the best of the bunch.

The Browns have this second pick thanks to the trade they made with the Houston Texans during the 2017 NFL Draft, a pick that was used on Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson. With Watson going down with injury, as well a bunch of other stars on the Texans, Houston keeps losing, which continues to improve this pick. Cleveland spent a bunch of picks on the defense last year, and may want to add weapons on the offensive side of the ball in 2018.

If the Browns do go for a new quarterback, they have to give him the most weapons possible to succeed. With Josh Gordon active again, that gives them an elite wide receiver, and Barkley could give them an elite running back. We have seen what a star running back can do for a franchise, even in year one as of late, so Barkley seems like a very solid addition to this roster, if he is still available at No. 4.
