The Auburn Tigers were just a win in the SEC Championship Game from the CFP, but what does their future and early signing day class look like?
Considering the pedigree of their program, the Auburn Tigers are rarely out of the mix in the SEC and the national conversation for long. In fact, they were quite close to being that in the 2017 college football season. Had they been able to beat Georgia for a second time in the season when they met in the SEC Championship Game, they’d be in the College Football Playoff.
The level of their program and success in the program is undoubtedly due to the school’s ability to recruit. All you have to say is Auburn and it becomes an enticing offer for recruits looking where they’re going to spend their college careers. When you think about the greats of Bo Jackson, Cam Newton and so on, that’s a pretty easy sell.
However, they could have big holes moving forward that they need to fill. Jarrett Stidham could be leaving the quarterback position open, and their defense could lose some big names as well. Thus, this recruiting class heading into 2018 will be huge.

As of right now, Joey Gatewood could be a successor for Stidham. As one of the top dual-threat options in the country, he has the skills and athleticism to make some real noise. That also speaks to what Auburn does so well, finding athletes and putting them in the best position to succeed.
