The Florida State Seminoles are in a period of transition with the departure of Jimbo Fisher, so what does their early signing day class look like.

To say that it’s been a whirlwind month for the Florida State Seminoles would undoubtedly be putting it lightly. The Seminoles have had a 2017 season to forget after starting quarterback Deondre Francois was injured and ruled out for the season in the opening matchup with Alabama. However, things have gotten trickier moving forward as it pertains to their coaching staff.

Texas A&M was able to lure former Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher away with a massive contract. With that said, FSU acted swiftly and made a massive hire. They were able to poach another big coaching name soon after, landing Willie Taggart to head the program.

However, anytime there is a coaching change of this magnitude at such a massive program, it has an affect on recruiting. Subsequently, the Florida State recruiting class right now is less than impressive. Of course they have big names coming, but they are lacking in terms of the top-end players we are used to seeing coming to Tallahassee.

With that, though, let’s take a look at the Florida State early signing day class, via 247 Sports:

For a school that has produced high-level defensive backs at such an impressive clip, it’s not surprising to see two 4-star cornerbacks. Anthony Lytton and Asante Samuel Jr. will surely be stars for the Noles moving forward. What’s more, landing 4-star offensive lineman Christian Meadows could be huge as they need vast upgrades on that part of the offense.

With that said, the final class for Florida State will likely look incredibly different in the near future. Once Taggart really gets to work, it’ll most likely be a run on big-time recruits that will come play for the Noles.
