While the Georgia Bulldogs will vie for a National Championship, they are also heading towards a bright future as we look at their early signing day class.

The Georgia Bulldogs are engrained in the fabric of college football. A game between the hedges is one of the greatest experiences in the sport. With that being said, they’ve certainly had their ups and downs over the years. Since Kirby Smart took over as the head coach following the dismissal of Mark Richt though, things have been looking up.

As of now, the Dawgs are one of the four teams in the College Football Playoff. Smart would love to bring a National Championship to Athens and really get things heading in a right direction. However, when you look at how he’s got to this point alone, it’s hard not to look at recruiting.

Georgia started the year with Jacob Eason — a Smart recruit — at quarterback. When he went down, Jake Fromm took over and didn’t miss a beat. That’s not all, of course, but it speaks to the high level of recruiting that’s been going on. And now we’ll see if the Bulldogs can continue that.

Landing Justin Fields as the top-rated dual-threat quarterback in the country is a huge get for the Bulldogs. Though Jake Fromm has them set for now, he could be a future star in Athens. Speaking of stars, Georgia’s ability to produce high-caliber running backs can’t be overlooked. So with James Cook and Zamir White in tow, that’s promising for both the Dawgs and the young men.

Smart has done an incredible job throughout his brief tenure with the Bulldogs to this point. And just looking at the early signing day class, that’s about to continue.
