The Texas A&M Aggies announce their early National Signing Day class for 2018.
Optimism is in the air for the Texas A&M Aggies. With Jimbo Fisher taking the program over, the buzz is high about what the Aggies could ultimately become in the SEC West. While they were never a bad program under Kevin Sumlin, the belief is that Fisher will get them over the hump.
It’s not going to be easy with Alabama and Auburn in the same division, but if anyone knows how to compete with those programs, it’s Fisher. His big task is going to be bringing in the talent that will make the Aggies better than those programs.
The Florida State Seminoles always had a great deal of talent under his watch and the hope is that he can bring the same to College Station. Early National Signing Day will be a tremendous opportunity for the Aggies to get a start on their class.
Right now, the Aggies have 15 commits and sit 18th nationally, according to 247sports. That ranks sixth in the conference. The addition of Fisher as head coach of the program might allow those numbers to rise by the time February is here.

The Aggies want to be able to lock down what they can right now and there is a clear direction with the class based on the recruits. Currently, the Aggies have some very talented offensive line recruits in the fold.
Guards Luke Matthews and Barton Clement should be integral pieces of a future line for the program on Saturdays. Offensive tackle Colten Blanton is another massive recruit that should be a big part of the plans going forward as well. With a seemingly stout line of the future being brought in with this class, Fisher can really focus on filling out the pieces around it.
