The Washington Huskies announce their early National Signing Day class for 2018.

Chris Petersen has built a dominant program in the pacific northwest. The Washington Huskies have been one of the best programs in college football over the last couple of seasons and are primed to remain a power in the Pac-12 for some time.

They are currently getting ready for a battle with the Penn State Nittany Lions in the Fiesta Bowl. After losing a great deal of talent to the NFL Draft this past season, the Huskies proved to still have plenty of great depth and put together another strong season.

Washington will lose more talent to the draft again this year, but they still have plenty of great recruits coming through the pipeline. With early National Signing Day taking place on Wednesday, Petersen can lock in some of those players.

Right now, the Huskies have to really like where they stand with this particular class they’re already boasting. Based on the commits that they already have, the Huskies have the No. 1 class in the conference, according to 247sports, and that’s no easy feat with USC in the Pac-12.

They’ll have to keep adding to the talent pool, however, as the Trojans are likely to make a huge push by the time February arrives. There are a couple of key recruits that could soon be a dynamic duo in Seattle.

Quarterback Jacob Simon is a big local product that should thrive in Petersen’s system. Along with him, the top recruit currently is Marquis Spiker. This is a duo that should soon be connecting on big plays if everything falls right. Early signing day is going to provide plenty of fallout and the Huskies have a great chance to take advantage of it.
