The SMU Mustangs will play the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in the Frisco Bowl on Wednesday night. Here is how to watch this holiday season bowl game online.
The 2017 college football bowl season has arrived. Bowl games will become more prevalent by the day. The one game that will be on tap for your enjoyment Wednesday night will be the DXL Frisco Bowl between the SMU Mustangs (7-5) and the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (6-6).
Kickoff from Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas will be at 8:00 p.m. ET on Dec. 20. ESPN will have the national broadcast with Mike Couzens and John Congemi in the booth to call the game. The available live streams for this game can be found on WatchESPN and on FuboTV.
SMU enters play at 7-5 (4-4) on the season. While the Mustangs were only a .500 team in AAC conference play, that was enough for former head coach Chad Morris to be the right guy to replace Bret Bielema as the next head coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks. New Mustangs head coach Sonny Dykes will supposedly coach SMU in this holiday season bowl game.
Louisiana Tech enters play at 6-6 (4-4) on the season. Skip Holtz’s Bulldogs did just enough to achieve bowl eligibility this season, going .500 overall and in Conference USA play. They might face a tough bowl opponent for them in SMU, but perhaps the coaching change in Dallas for the Mustangs could factor in this ball game.

Even with a coaching change occurring, the Mustangs are the slight favorite in the Frisco Bowl. A contributing factor to this is the nearness of Frisco to SMU’s home base of Dallas. Then again, it’s not like Louisiana Tech has to travel all that far from Ruston either. This should be one of the closer games of the holiday bowl season.
