The Minnesota Vikings will hit the road in Week 16, as they travel to Lambeau Field to take on a Green Bay Packers team without Aaron Rodgers.

Over two months ago, the Green Bay Packers went into U.S. Bank Stadium as one of the hottest teams in football, and looking like a favorite to win the NFC in 2017. During that game against the Minnesota Vikings, Anthony Barr hit Aaron Rodgers, driving him to the ground, breaking his collarbone, and ruining the Packers season. In Week 16, those two teams will do battle once again, but Rodgers will not have an opportunity for revenge.

Green Bay put Rodgers on injured reserve on Tuesday, ending his 2017 season. The veteran signal-caller had made it all the way back to play the Carolina Panthers this past weekend, but he threw three interceptions in a loss. With the Packers all but out of the playoff race, the organization likely felt it would be the smartest thing for the franchise long-term to sit him down teh rest of the way.

For the Vikings, that can only be seen as good news, as they are looking to lock up home field advantage in the NFC. The Super Bowl will be played inside U.S. Bank Stadium, so that would truly be a home field advantage if they can pull it off. Third-string quarterback Case Keenum has played at an MVP level this season, and the Vikings defense may be the best unit in all of football.

The Packers placed Aaron Rodgers on injured reserve on Tuesday, making this game a lot less interesting. Minnesota should roll over the Packers in this one, as they are looking to lock up home field advantage in the NFC Playoffs. They will take care of business, even though the Packers are always tough inside Lambeau Field.

Final Score: Vikings 28, Packers 17
