FanDuel NFL: Week 16 lineup
As you enter FanDuel NFL contests for Week 16, here is a lineup to consider using.
As is my custom, before I unveil my FanDuel lineup for Week 16 here’s a look at the results from Week 15.
Quarterback: Blake Bortles-25.04 points
Running Backs: Le’Veon Bell-25 points, Kenyan Drake-20.3 points
Wide Receivers: Michael Thomas-19.8 points, Devin Funchess-2.4 points, Randall Cobb-17.9 points
Tight End: David Njoku-0 points
Kicker: Robbie Gould-24 points
Defense: New Orleans Saints-6 points
My losing streak is over, as this lineup delivered $2 in the $1 contest I entered with it. But Funchess and Njoku were duds, and the Saints defense was a little disappointing. In the broader scope, pretty much anyone other than Njoku at tight end would have boosted my winnings.
To keep up with all of FanSided’s DFS NFL coverage, head over to the fantasy football hub where each week you can find a post like this tailored for DraftKings as well as one specifically designed for usage on FanDuel. In this post, all salary and “fantasy points” references are to the FanDuel scoring system (unless otherwise noted) and salaries. With the season nearly over, here is my FanDuel lineup for Week 16, which I’m using in a Sunday-only contest.
Quarterback: Jameis Winston, Tampa Bay Buccaneers-$7,100
Winston has thrown for between 270 and 300 yards in all three of his starts since returning from a shoulder injury, with multiple passing touchdowns in all three contests. At first glance his Week 16 matchup against the Carolina Panthers does look promising, but let’s take a closer look.
The Panthers are still in the top half of the league in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks (ESPN scoring). But they’ve allowed at least 280 passing yards and multiple passing touchdowns in three of their last four games (and four of their last six), with multiple passing touchdowns allowed in five of those six contests.
Winston did not put up big numbers against Carolina back in Week 8 (21-for-38 for 210 yards, two interceptions). But he was not fully healthy in that game, and it appears he is now.
