Manchester City have all but wrapped up the Premier League title already. After beating rivals United 2-1 and a week later Tottenham 4-1, it doesn’t look like they can be beat. City are already up 11 points on second-place United and are on a 16-match win streak, which is the best in the Premier League era. They’ve beaten the top five big clubs by an aggregate scoreline of 15-3, scored 56 goals and have a plus-44 goal differential. Pep Guardiola may now be looking towards winning the triple this year. Their goals have to be loftier than just the league title at this point.
Bournemouth, on the other hand, has had a troubling first half. They sit at 16th place in the table just one point off the relegation zone. Eddie Howe’s squad hasn’t won since November 18th against Huddersfield, losing three out of their last six and now face the best team in the league. They’ve scored the fourth least goals in the Premier League as well. Their leading scorer is 35-year-old Jermain Defoe with three on the season. With West Ham and Crystal Palace surging lately, the Cherries could be in a relegation battle until the end.
