The second half of the Premier League season officially kicks off on Boxing Day as West Brom host Everton at The Hawthorns. West Brom have struggled this season and are facing a relegation battle. Despite an awful start to the season, Everton have climbed from the bottom of the table into the top half of the table.

The Baggies have struggled this season and are near the bottom of the league in goals. At The Hawthorns, West Brom have won only one game and have eight points in their first nine home games. The Baggies have not won a home game since the opening weekend of the season when they defeated Bournemouth 1-0.

Everton were as low as 18th in the Premier League table at the beginning of November but used a strong six weeks to move into the top half of the table under manager Sam Allardyce. However, Everton have struggled away from Goodison Park this season. The Toffees have won only one game away from home and have only seven points in their first nine road games. Former England captain Wayne Rooney has had his best since 2014-15 and is leading Everton in goals this year.
