The Georgia Bulldogs are in the College Football Playoff. So of course a Georgia lawyer field an emergency motion to delay a trial to go to the Rose Bowl.

It’s not every day that the Georgia Bulldogs are playing in the College Football Playoff. For the first time since its creation in 2014, Georgia will be playing for a chance at a national title. This has been the best season in Georgia football since 1982, where the Dawgs finished runner-up to the Penn State Nittany Lions in the national championship.

Meaning just a little more down south, it should come as no surprise that many members of Dawg Nation will make the trek to Pasadena to take on the Oklahoma Sooners in the Rose Bowl. Yes, even Georgia lawyers that are supposed to be on trial Tuesday, Jan. 2.

A Georgia lawyer/fan filed an emergency motion to delay the trial that was scheduled for the day after the Rose Bowl. Basically, the plaintiff’s lawyer’s brother hooked him up with some Rose Bowl tickets and he’s going to Pasadena no matter what. Could you blame him?

“A colleague’s emergency motion to get a trial moved given the Dawgs appearance in the Rose Bowl. Great read. Judge granted it without hesitation,” a Twitter user wrote.

No, this isn’t the first time this sort of thing has happened before when it comes to SEC football fanatics. Alabama Crimson Tide lawyer fans have gotten trials delayed before to go to national championships because ROLL TIDE!!! Again, can you blame the guy?

No. 3 Georgia will face the No. 2 Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl at 5:00 p.m. ET on New Year’s Day. The winner of this national semifinal will play the winner of the No. 1 Clemson Tigers and the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide for the 2017 National Championship in Atlanta.

This will be the first time that Georgia and Oklahoma will meet on the gridiron. Hard to imagine that these two collegiate blue-bloods have never squared off before. Here’s to a great game in Pasadena. The lawyer got the trial delayed so he can Go Dawgs, Sic ‘Em Woof, Woof, Woof in the biggest Georgia football game since Herschel Junior Walker was a junior back in school.
